Keep each committee and regime identifiable
The Security Council consolidated list publishes individuals and entities with permanent references, available aliases, identification details, and regime information. A consolidated distribution is convenient for retrieval, but it does not make all entries subject to identical measures. Consult the relevant committee materials to understand an entry.
Uncertain dates and alias quality are useful evidence when reviewing the original list. Keep the publisher’s wording instead of turning a year, range, or weak alias into a more precise fact. Our partial-date guide illustrates how to record overlap and uncertainty in an identity comparison.
Understand the consolidated list’s boundaries
The consolidated individuals and entities list is distinct from the separate 1718 designated-vessels list. A search of one should not be represented as a search of both. The applicable committee publications, measures, and implementation rules matter when interpreting a result.

Choosing available coverage
