Read the claim. Check the notice.

Learn how to check additions, amendments and removals in OFAC notices. Five worked examples link the claim, identifiers and dated source evidence.

A guide to reading source evidence

Each example shows how to support a specific claim with the notice section, subject identifiers and source dates. Open the example to compare the evidence and copy a citation.

These five examples come from OFAC SDN List notices dated 27 July to 8 October 2026. They cover three companies and two ships. This is not a complete change feed. Past notices do not show who is listed now.

Five worked examples

  1. AdditionNotice dated

    ARGO MARIS

Use the notice heading and IMO number to identify an addition. The notice alone does not show the ship’s full listing history.

  2. AmendmentNotice dated

    DA LI

Compare the former and revised entries. The shared IMO number connects a name change to the same vessel entry.

  3. RemovalNotice dated

    COMERCIAL JINAN S.A.

Read the entry under its section heading. This notice removes the company; finding its name in the notice does not mean it was added.

  4. RemovalNotice dated

    INTERCONTINENTAL DE FINANCIACION AEREA S.A.

Follow the company name and alias through the notice. Their shared tax ID supports the connection between the two entries.

  5. RemovalNotice dated

    TRADING & MARITIME INVESTMENTS

Check how a notice links two names when it gives no company ID. Keep that evidence separate from any claim about another record.
