A register for a named regime

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade publishes the Russia Sanctions Register, including party and ship information. Consult the current register and associated notices to understand entries and amendments. A historical entry or deleted row should not be treated as a current designation without checking its status.

This register concerns the Russia sanctions regime. It should not be presented as every New Zealand sanctions measure. Trade measures, exemptions, oil-price caps, and other legal conditions require the relevant original material and cannot be resolved by a party name search alone.

Do not force every asset into a person record

Keep the type of the listed subject visible when comparing identity evidence. A vessel, company, and person can share a name while being entirely different subjects. Use reliable available identifiers and the original record to understand the match, and leave unknown facts unresolved rather than assigning them a guessed value.
